Israel is open to the idea of pushing back its ground operation in Gaza for a couple of days in order to allow for negotiations on hostages to take place, Axios reported on Tuesday citing two Israeli officials familiar with the matter.
"Both Israel and the Biden administration want to exhaust every effort to try and get hostages out of Gaza. If Hamas proposes a big package, of course, we will be ready to do things in return," one of the officials commented.
Another official shared that Israel notified Egyptian mediators that if a hostage agreement were to happen, Hamas would have to release all the women and children being held captive. Previously, Hamas announced it released more hostages.
