Labour Party leader Keir Starmer (pictured) repeated on Tuesday calls for the resignation of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak over the so-called partygate scandal, after they received fines for breaking the COVID-19 lockdown. Starmer said the two Tories "have broken the law and repeatedly lied to the British public" and called their party "totally unfit to govern."

London Mayor Sadiq Khan, a Labour member, echoed the statement, stating that "many said their last goodbyes to loved ones on the phone while the prime minister partied." Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also accused Johnson and Sunak of repeatedly lying to Parliament and urged the prime minister to resign and "take his out of touch Chancellor with him."
