Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida will speak with United States President Joe Biden on Tuesday about the recent missile launch from North Korea, Kyodo News reported citing sources.

Today, Pyongyang launched a missile that broke the record for the greatest horizontal distance ever reached by a North Korean intermediate-range or longer-range missile, marking the first launch across the Japanese archipelago in nearly five years.

The event comes just days after North Korea fired an unidentified ballistic missile into the East Sea, ahead of the United States Vice President Kamala Harris' visit to Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
