McCarthy slams Biden's 'Socialist Spending Scam'

United States House of Representatives Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (pictured) described the $1.75 trillion spending bill US President Joe Biden had proposed as a "Socialist Spending Scam."

In a tweet he posted on Sunday, the California Republican claimed that "[a]mnesty for up to 10 million illegal immigrants" and "[h]igher prices at the pump & a Heat Your Home Tax" were among the proposals listed in the bill, as well as employing 85,000 Internal Revenue Service (IRS) "agents to spy on" Americans' bank accounts.

Democrats plan to pass their social policy and climate change legislation without any Republican support in Congress.
