The New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) announced on Monday in a press release that all NYSE Group equity and options markets won't be operating on January 9, 2025, "in observance of the National Day of Mourning in recognition of the passing of former [United States] President Jimmy Carter."
"The NYSE Group markets that will close in observance of the National Day of Mourning for President Carter are the New York Stock Exchange, NYSE American Equities, NYSE American Options, NYSE Arca Equities, NYSE Arca Options, NYSE Chicago and NYSE National," it was detailed in the press release.
The 39th president of the US died on December 29, aged 100. He served as the country's head of state from 1977 to 1981.
