The Metropolitan Police confirmed on Thursday it has finished its investigation into breaches of COVID-19 lockdowns in Downing Street, fining 126 people since January when the probe was launched. Furthermore, it said that 28 more people are about also to get fined for not respecting rules during the nationwide lockdown in England.
While Prime Minister Boris Johnson already paid one fine, it is unknown whether he has received additional penalties, according to a report published by BBC. However, the full report, covering breaches recorded between May 2020 and April 2021, by senior civil servant Sue Gray is expected to be published as soon as next week.
