Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesman Majed Al Ansari revealed on Friday that Israel released 39 Palestinian women and children it had held in its prisons.

The move was in accordance with the commitments Israel and Gazan militant organizations made for the first day under their ceasefire and hostage and prisoner exchange agreements, the Qatari official confirmed.

Meanwhile, Hamas and other groups also complied with the deal, releasing 13 Israeli, 10 Thai nationals and a Filipino citizen earlier in the day, according to Al Ansari.
