None of Russia’s planes carried out any attacks in the Idlib province, the Russian Defense Ministry told local media on Tuesday. Earlier, a Syrian army source quoted by Sky News Arab also denied the military used chemical weapons in an air strike in the northwestern region of Syria.
The defense minister strongly repudiated claims Russian planes bombed the town of Khan Sheikhoun, where, earlier today, 58 people were killed in what the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights called a chemical attack.
According to activists and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the air raids conducted in the Idlib province in northwestern Syria released a toxic gas, reportedly causing people to suffocate or faint.
