Dow jumps by 200 pts after Fed's rate decision

Major stock market indexes in the United States observed gains during Wednesday's trading session after the Federal Reserve announced no change in its monetary policy, indicating a slowdown in the rise in inflation and the strength of the country's economy.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average soared by 0.56% or 273 points at 2:10 pm ET. At the same time, the Nasdaq 100 surged by 0.68% or 111 points. The S&P 500 rose by 0.62%.

The euro grew by 0.33% against the dollar at 2:09 pm ET to sell for $1.08330.
