Russia's Defense Ministry claimed on Thursday that Ukrainian laboratories allegedly funded by the United States experimented with bioagents that could target specific ethnic groups.
"The available documents confirm numerous cases of transferring biological samples of Ukrainian citizens abroad. With a high degree of probability, we can say that one of the tasks of the US and its allies was the creation of bioagents that can selectively affect various ethnic groups of the population," noted the head of the Russian forces biological division, Igor Kirillov.
Kirillov also added that the documentation covering the research has mostly already been carried out of the country by the US. The White House negated the claims, saying the US government fully complies with international treaties addressing biological research.
