Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov (pictured) arrived in Pyongyang on Friday, Russia's TASS news agency reported. He is scheduled to meet with senior North Korean military officials and politicians to discuss bilateral matters.
The media outlet noted that Belousov will attend several high-level meetings during his official visit.
This trip comes amid reports that more than 10,000 North Korean troops are set to join Russia's forces in Ukraine, with US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin recently confirming the troops' presence in Russia and warning that the soldiers are expected to enter combat against Ukraine "soon."
