Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced Wednesday that his country will officially recognize the Palestinian State on May 28.
"I would like to inform you that after having reached a consensus decision between the two parties of the Government and echoing the majority feeling of the Spanish people, next Tuesday, Spain will approve the recognition of the Palestinian State in the Council of Ministers," Sanchez told the Congress.
His comment aligns with similar statements previously made by Norway and Ireland.
