Starbucks taps Chipotle's Brian Niccol as new CEO

Starbucks Coffee Company appointed Brian Niccol as President and CEO on Tuesday, immediately replacing Laxman Narasimhan.

"Niccol currently serves as president and CEO of Chipotle. Since becoming CEO in 2018, Niccol has transformed Chipotle," the company said in a statement, praising Niccol's approach and the positives he brought to Chipotle. "Revenues have nearly doubled, profits have increased nearly sevenfold, and the stock price has risen nearly 800% during his leadership."

The international coffeehouse chain stated that Niccol will begin in the new role on September 9, 2024.
