United States House of Representatives voted in favor of the short-term spending bill which will keep the government funded through February 8 and end the current shutdown. The bill will now be sent to President Donald Trump for signing later in the day so the government could reopen on Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, the Senate voted in favor of the legislation 81 to 18, after Democrats and Republicans agreed on a deal. Senator Chuck Schumer confirmed reports that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell proposed to discuss a broader immigration bill if Democrats vote for the bill.
