Taiwan's Foreign Ministry condemned on Monday China's decision to extend military exercises near the island.
The ministry accused Beijing of provoking and deliberately creating a crisis.
China launched military drills around Taiwan last week in response to United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's decision to visit the island despite warnings from Beijing against such a move. Earlier today, Beijing said it started new exercises in the region, noting they will primarily focus on testing the country's anti-submarine and sea assault capabilities.
