Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report did not establish anyone from the Trump administration conspired or coordinated with the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 presidential elections, United States Attorney General William Barr said ahead of the report's release.
"We now know, the Russian operatives did not have the cooperation of President Donald Trump, the Trump campaign" or any other Americans, Barr stated.
The investigation did, however, determine the Russian government and foreign military intelligence agency GRU did seek to interfere in the elections, with actions that included hacking operations and the activities of the Internet Research Agency (IRA). The report determined GRU transferred some documents gained in the hacking operations to Wikileaks which later published the papers.
