United States President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he had a "very good telephone call" with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He said the call lasted for around an hour and focused on the conversation Trump had with Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday "in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs."

"We are very much on track," Trump added, likely referring to the Russia-Ukraine ceasefire negotiations. This is the first contact between Trump and Zelensky since the Ukrainian president's visit to the US, which was cut short after a tense exchange with Trump and US Vice President JD Vance.
