Ukrainian forces destroyed a bridge in the Glushkov district, located in the Kursk region, the TASS news agency reported on Friday citing regional security sources. The event was then confirmed by the region's governor, Alexey Smirnov, in a Telegram post.
According to the sources, with the destruction of the bridge, which was on the Seym River, the evacuation of civilians has now been made more difficult as the district has been cut off by land.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief General Oleksandr Syrskyi told President Volodymyr Zelensky that the country's troops advanced one to three kilometers in Russia's Kursk Oblast.
