The United States has reached a deal to lift tariffs on steel and aluminium imports from Canada and Mexico, American media reported on Friday.
The US agreed to remove the duties in 48 hours after Canada and Mexico agreed to impose measures which will prevent Chinese steel from entering the US via the two countries.
The agreement on tariffs, which is expected to be announced officially later in the day, paves the way for the three countries to ratify the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).
