Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on his Telegram account on Sunday that Denmark will be sending 19 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. During his visit to the country, Zelensky confirmed that the training of Ukrainian pilots already commenced in Denmark.
Meanwhile, Denmark's Ministry of Defense revealed in a statement that the prerequisite for delivering the planes is to successfully equip Ukrainian personnel with knowledge of how to operate such equipment.
The ministry added that the donation will be done in a "gradual" manner, so as to ensure that Denmark’s planned transition to F-35 combat aircraft is not affected.
