Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday that his country expects more military aid for it to be announced in September.

"We have already started preparing a productive September for Ukraine," Zelensky wrote on Telegram. "New defense packages for Ukrainian warriors. Artillery, armored vehicles, air defense and missiles, as well as mine clearance equipment. Each partner is aware of our needs. We are expecting decisions," he added. Over the past few days, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway announced new military aid packages for Kiev.

The Ukrainian leader also thanked the United States for the latest sanctions it imposed against Russia over "the criminal deportation" of Ukrainian children and expressed hope more countries will follow with similar measures.
