An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.5 struck off the coast of Papua New Guinea, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said on Wednesday.
The quake's epicenter was registered 108 kilometers northwest of the town of Kimbe on Papua New Guinea's New Britain island, at a depth of 598.9 kilometers.
No damage or casualties have been reported. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), there is no risk of a tsunami following the tremor.
