Airbus Chief Executive Guillaume Faury asserted on Wednesday that global air traffic is on its way to surpassing pre-pandemic levels following the reopening of the Chinese economy.
"The reopening of China is proving to be a strong driver of air traffic as it progressively recovers, and all regions should now converge towards normalized levels or even higher levels than before COVID-19," Faury told shareholders at a company meeting.
Airbus reached two major deals since the start of 2023. Air India ordered 250 aircraft, while China signed the agreement to purchase 160 planes while also setting up a second Airbus assembly line in Tianjin city.
