Syrian President Bashar al-Assad has allegedly given permission for the Wagner Group to supply the Lebanese Hezbollah with a surface-to-air SA-22 missile system, CNN reported on Thursday citing two United States sources.
According to the sources, the system was originally provided by Russia for use by the Syrian government. Earlier, The Wall Street Journal reported that Russia's paramilitary group might send the aircraft missile to the militant group.
These developments came amid raised concerns about Hezbollah militants potentially opening a new front in Israel's conflict with Hamas.
