United States President Joe Biden signed on Friday a bill that helps accelerate the legislative process on the imminent increase to the federal borrowing limit.

"The nation's full faith and credit has always been a shared responsibility. The bipartisan support of this legislation shows that it is still possible for leaders to work across the aisle and deliver," Biden tweeted.

Senate Republicans previously agreed to close debate on the bill and to allow the Democrats to pass the debt ceiling hike with a simple majority and without their support. Although the formal passage of the bill is expected before December 15, the Democrats have yet to announce the exact number for the new debt limit.
