United States President Biden expressed the collective determination of the Group of Seven (G7) nations to "show Putin — you cannot wait us out. You cannot divide us. And we will be with Ukraine until they prevail in this war."
"The United States, the G7 and countries around the world have consistently answered that question by saying yes we will. We will say it again … we're going to stand with Ukraine," Biden said in a joint news conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the G7 Summit in Italy. "The United States is going to help ensure that Ukraine can do both, not by sending American troops to fight in Ukraine, but by providing weapons and ammunition, expanding intelligence-sharing and training Ukrainian troops."
Earlier, the leaders confirmed a $50 billion loan from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine by the end of 2024. On his part, Zelensky said Chinese President Xi Jinping assured him that China "will not sell any weapons to Russia."
