Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, alongside 16 other individuals, was indicted on Tuesday by the Federal Police for allegedly ordering false issuance of the COVID-19 vaccination certificates. Among the indicted is the ex-head of state's close aide, Mauro Cid.
The case will now be forwarded to the Public Prosecutor's Office, which will decide whether or not Bolsonaro will be facing criminal charges at the Supreme Court.
"It's a selective investigation. I'm calm, I don't owe anything. The world knows that I didn't take the vaccine," Bolsonaro told reporters.
