Borrell: Israel's actions not enough to prevent starvation

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell argued on Friday that Israel's decision to open up the Erez border and Ashdod Port for allowing humanitarian aid entrance in Gaza will still not be enough to prevent starvation in Gaza.

"The binding UNSCR 2728 must be implemented. Now," Borrell demanded on his X social media account referring to the United Nations Security Council Resolution adopted on March 25 which urged "an immediate ceasefire in the Israel–Hamas war during the month of Ramadan" that ends up into a permanent ceasefire.

The European Union and other global leaders appear to be toughening their rhetoric towards Israel after Polish, Canadian, British, Australian and US nationals aid workers were killed by Israeli forces in what has been described as a mistake.
