The Boston Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks in Game 3 of the 2024 NBA Finals with a 106-99 victory, bringing them one win away from their 18th championship in franchise history.

Boston was forced to cope without Kristaps Porzingis who suffered a torn medial retinaculum in his left leg during the previous game. Jayson Tatum stepped up, scoring 31 points in total, with 20 of those scored in the first half of the game. Jaylen Brown was not far behind, adding 30 points and a team-high eight assists. The Mavericks started the game off with a lot of energy, coming out with a 25-12 lead in the opening six minutes of the game, thanks to Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. The Mavericks almost pulled off a dramatic comeback in the fourth quarter, bringing the Celtics' lead down to one, but it wasn't enough.

The two teams will square off in Game 4 on Friday.
