Oil prices rose by over 1% on Monday after United States President Donald Trump announced he will impose a 25% secondary tariff related to Venezuelan oil, requiring any country buying oil from Venezuela to pay the levy "on any Trade they do with our Country."
West Texas Intermediate's May settlements added 1.29% at 11:42 am ET, going for $69.16 per barrel. Brent for deliveries in May grew by 1.16% a minute later to sell for $73 per barrel.
