China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed on Wednesday that the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, and the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, Annalena Baerbock, will visit the country.

The visit will take place from April 13 to 15 and comes at the invitation of the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, Qin Gang.

The news comes days after the French President, Emmanuel Macron, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, visited the country. Moreover, the event will take place in the midst of Europe's rapprochement with the Asian giant, a move that has sparked controversy among some allies due to tensions surrounding the Taiwan crisis.
