The Eurozone's annual inflation rate for February stood at 2.3%, Eurostat's second report said on Wednesday. The figure was revised from the preliminary reading of 2.4% and down from January's figure of 2.5%. The monthly rise in the consumer price index (CPI) was revised to 0.4% from the preliminary report's 0.5%.
In the European Union, inflation was at 2.7% in February. On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.4% in the euro area. Core inflation, excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, was measured at 2.6% in the Eurozone year-on-year, with the CPI adding 0.5% month-on-month.
The biggest contributors to inflation in the euro area were services, food, alcohol and tobacco, non-energy industrial goods and energy. The highest yearly inflation rate was recorded in Hungary at 5.7%, while the lowest was in France at 0.9%.
