Newly appointed French Foreign Minister Stephane Sejourne arrived in Kiev on Saturday to strengthen relationships with Ukraine amid the conflict with Russia.
The French ministry confirmed earlier reports on its X account adding that Sejourne started his first field trip, with the purpose of "reiterating France's commitment to its allies and the civilian population."
The visit comes at a moment where Ukraine is trying to secure bigger and more frequent economic and military support from its backers to continue with operations against Moscow amid persistent attacks from both sides during the winter season. A day ago, United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said his government will continue delivering aid to Kiev, provoking heightened reactions from Russia.
