France's Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu announced on Tuesday that he is embarking on a tour of the Near and Middle East "to discuss the situation in Gaza and regional security" following a request from President Emmanuel Macron.
"This trip will start in Egypt and will continue in the Gulf region. It will end Friday in Israel, the first visit by a French Minister of the Armed Forces since 2000," Lecornu stated on X.
In previous instances, the French president has appealed numerous times for a cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Additionally, France hosted a conference for humanitarian aid for Gaza in Paris.
