Hang Seng cancels Friday morning trade due to typhoon

Hong Kong Exchange and Clearing Limited (HKEX), the operator of Hong Kong's Hang Seng stock exchange announced the cancellation of Friday morning trade in the securities and derivatives market due to the Super Typhoon Yagi's expected landfall.

Currently, Typhoon Signal No. 8 (T8) is in force with Hong Kong affected by strong winds and heavy rainfall, causing flight cancellations and triggering emergency alerts.

"Trading will begin on the first half hour approximately two hours after the discontinuation of the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, Black Rainstorm Warning, or any Extreme Conditions announcement," Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing said.
