Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei (pictured) said in an interview with Kyodo News on Tuesday that he expects the company to release 6G solution sometime around 2030.

Ren also noted he doesn't think the United States will revert its decision to blacklist Huawei anytime soon and added the company has been hiring people from all around the world recently with the exception of the US as a result of Washington's move. The US and China have been making progress in trade negotiations and are close to reaching a partial deal, but US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross stressed Huawei will not be a part of the so-called phase one deal.

Commenting on the US-China trade war more generally, the Huawei founder stated he believes the American auto industry will be strongly affected by the dispute since Beijing is set to impose a 25% import tariff on American cars in December.
