United States President Donald Trump is mulling a two-step approach to his tariff policies that would enable him to impose emergency duties while investigations into trading partners are underway, the Financial Times reported on Tuesday citing sources.
According to the sources, the Trump administration is looking to potentially ground the US head of state's reciprocal tariff regime "in a more robust legal framework while enabling Trump to raise money for planned tax cuts."
The sources further added that the US president is likely to impose duties on imported vehicles "immediately" on April 2.
