The Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) confirmed on Thursday that the Director of its Gaza and North Office Raafat Salha died from injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike carried out on Tuesday. The attack targeted a family home where Salha and his family had sought shelter. Thirteen members of his family, including his wife and four children, also lost their lives.

In a statement, the ICHR holds Israel responsible and urges the International Criminal Court to investigate these attacks and protect Palestinian civilians.

Separately, it was reported that the post-ceasefire death toll rose to 73. Hamas reiterated its commitment to the ceasefire and hostage release deal set to take effect Sunday, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blamed the group for seeking to provoke a crisis.
