Iran's spox: US sanctions show their fear of truth

Iranian Government spokesperson Ali Bahadori Jahromi stated on Tuesday that the recent sanctions imposed by the United States, including two local media outlets, are indicative of the US being "scared" of the journalistic duties carried out by "Truth-Seeking" media.

During a press conference, Jahromi stressed that this action shows repeatedly "the double standards of the US" where a huge amount of budget is directed "to support media promoting violence and terrorism and false empires that are associated with its own policies, but it cannot bear to hear independent media that wants to publish a voice different from the voice of the United States." Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi questioned the similarity of President Joe Biden's stance on sanctions to that of his predecessor, Donald Trump.

His comments come amid the tensions created for the liberation of American citizens detained in Iran.
