RFK Jr. takes his name off Arizona ballot amid exit rumors

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. withdrew from the ballot in Arizona as speculation about his exit from the presidential race and possible alliance with former United States President Donald Trump mounts.

Kennedy's running mate, Nicole Shanahan, said on Tuesday that the independent presidential candidate is considering dropping out and endorsing Trump to reduce "the risk" of Vice President Kamala Harris taking office. This prompted Trump to tell CNN on the same day that he "probably would" think about appointing Kennedy to a role in his administration.

What kicked rumors about the possible alliance into gear was an out-of-the-ordinary announcement from Trump’s campaign, saying that "a special guest" would be joining Trump at his Glendale event on Friday, set hours after Kennedy's speech "about the present historical moment and his path forward" in neighboring Phoenix.
