CIA chief reportedly heads to Israel on Wednesday

EPA-EFE/WILL OLIVER

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director William Burns (pictured) is expected to travel to Israel later today after a new round of hostage negotiations in Cairo, Barak Ravid, an Axios correspondent reported, citing a source with knowledge of the trip.

"CIA director Bill Burns is expected to travel to Israel on Wednesday after another round of hostage talks in Cairo, a source with knowledge of the trip told me. He is expected to meet Netanyahu and other Israeli officials," the reporter posted on X.

In a related matter, Israel's Walla news reported, citing two senior US administration officials that the White House does not view Israel's "limited" operation to gain control of Rafah as a violation of President Biden's "red line." However, they have also mentioned that this perspective could change if the operation were to expand.
