Johnson: Very good chance of EU trade deal

United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Monday that he believes Britain has a "very good" chance of striking a free trade agreement with the European Union before the end of the Brexit transition period.

After virtual talks with top EU officials, Johnson noted that the deal can be reached "provided we really focus now and get on and do it" and added he sees no reason the agreement can't be completed as soon as July.

Earlier, the EU said the two sides agreed to intensify talks on their post-Brexit relationship in July and "work hard" to find a solution that would work in the interests of both UK and EU citizens.
