Johnson considering proposing separate Ukraine bill

United States House Speaker Mike Johnson told Politico on Thursday that he is considering proposing a bill that would allocate aid for Ukraine separately, or possibly together with the funds for Israel.

"I think it is a stand-alone, and I suspect it will need to be on suspension," Johnson said. He also expressed his hopes his proposal would receive support from the Democrats too.

Johnson stressed that, should such an idea come to fruition, it would come up during the House's suspension calendar.
