Member Parliament and former Conservative Party Treasurer Peter Cruddas told the Telegraph on Monday that outgoing head of the British government Boris Johnson expressed his wish to remain in his position.
"He does not want to resign," Cruddas noted, adding that Johnson told him he "wants to carry on and he believes that, with the membership behind him, he can."
Cruddas started a campaign to keep Johnson in the office, calling for a second ballot among party members to confirm whether or not they believe Johnson should resign. In the past week, over 10,000 conservative members supported the campaign.
