Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on September 9 to participate in a ministerial meeting of the Russia-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Strategic Dialogue.

According to Russian media reports, the meeting is set to focus on various regional and international issues, including security in the Persian Gulf and crisis management.

Lavrov also reportedly has bilateral meetings planned on the sidelines of the event.
