Luigi Mangione entered a not-guilty plea on Friday to federal stalking and homicide charges related to the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. Thus, he will face trial for the case.
Mangione faces possible death penalty if found guilty. Last week, federal prosecutors indicted him with four counts, including dual stalking charges, murder with a firearm, and a weapons violation for allegedly using a silencer.
The 26-year-old was arrested at a McDonald's restaurant in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Police allege that when they found him, he had a ghost gun, a firearm assembled from untraceable parts, a fake ID and a passport.
