Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva proclaimed a "federal security intervention" in the capital of Brasilia until the end of January after a mob stormed the Congress, the presidential palace and the Supreme Court. He promised that the perpetrators "will be found and they will be punished."
Brasilia Governor Ibaneis Rocha said over 400 people have been arrested so far in connection to the incident, adding that the authorities will continue working to restore order and identify those who took part in the breach.
