The approval ratings of French President Emmanuel Macron fell sharply ahead of the upcoming snap elections scheduled for June 30 and July 7, according to the latest poll published on Thursday by Elabe.
According to the survey, only 24% (-5%) of French citizens trust President Macron to address the nation's challenges effectively. This marks his lowest level of support since the beginning of his second term and the second lowest since his election in 2017. In December 2018, during the height of the Yellow Vest crisis, his approval rating stood at 23%.
This decline in support follows the defeat of Macron's Renaissance party in the European elections and the announcement of the dissolution of the National Assembly.
