The Prince George's County Police Department (PD) stated it had taken one man into custody over an "ongoing incident" in front of the main gate of the Joint Base Andrews (JBA), the home to Air Force One.
According to aerial shots taken by several media outlets, a Buick Regal car stopped right in front of the base's main entrance around 6 pm ET. The gate has since been closed.
Zachary Baddorf, a spokesman for the base's Air Force's 316th Wing, remarked the facility's security team is working with "partner law enforcement officials to address the situation."
