The meeting comes as Mexico weighs its response to the 25% tariffs imposed by the US on steel and aluminum. Previously, President Claudia Sheinbaum stated that her government will wait until April 2 before making a decision on tariff policy, prioritizing negotiations in the meantime and assuring that her administration has multiple strategies in place to respond if necessary, stating.
